I recently defended my dissertation "As estruturas sociais e econômicas do Império Romano do Ocidente e a criação do reino dos visigodos nas Galliae Aquitania e Narbonensis" (The social and economic structures of the Western Roman Empire and the creation of the Visigothic kingdom in the Galliae Aquitania and Narbonensis) and got a Master's Degree in History at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil.

Although I am not sure what my next academic step will be, I hope to keep working with ancient or late antique economy. At this point, I am particularly drawn to late antique slavery and colonate, especially in areas like Gaul, Spain or even Italy.

I've been working on two papers. One dealing with Cato the Elder's "De Agri cultura" and the other with slavery and colonate in the works of Salvian of Marseille and Sidonius Apollinaris. The first one is already being written in English and I hope to publish it in Europe or in the United States. The second one has been drafted in Portuguese but I should translate it into English soon. By the way, I'm open to any tips concerning the eventual publication of my works (like where to publish them).
